As the Dealer Principal, Neil Lyng, took the stage, a nostalgic trip through time began. From our humble beginnings in 1996 to proudly becoming main Ford dealers in September 2012, we've witnessed the ever-evolving motoring industry. Neil acknowledged the challenges and changes, emphasising that while change may not always be easy, it's undeniably necessary for progress.

A Glimpse into the Future:

This Fleet Night was an evening of information and insight into the changing models and alternative power trains that will shape our near future. Neil's words set the stage for an exploration of innovative technologies designed to make our driving network more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Visuals of historic contract signings and the evolution of Ford models captured the essence of the changes we've embraced and the promising future that lies ahead.

Insights and Expertise:

Key speakers, including Michael Lyng Motors Ford Sales Manager Jamie Power, Aidan Whelan, and Padraig McCluskey, illuminated the evening with their expertise. Topics ranged from our current models and upcoming technologies to detailed cost comparisons between traditional diesel and the Plug-in HEV Ford Kuga. Financial Director & GM Padraig McCluskey shared invaluable insights into BIK numbers, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the automotive landscape.

Ford Pro/Telematics

The main speaker of the evening was Mr. Padraig Duane, Ford Ireland and UK Fleet Business Manager, who spoke expertly about the new Ford Pro Software and how it can help businesses transform their fleet management into a connected and productive experience. Mr. Duane described the Ford Pro Software as a suite of digital tools leveraging real-time vehicle data to enhance commercial vehicle and fleet productivity. By transforming live vehicle health and telematics data into actionable insights, the software optimizes uptime, safety, and overall fleet management. Later in the evening Mr. Duane showcased his own live data feed from his drive that afternoon from Cork to Kilkenny and left onlookers in no doubt that the Ford Pro Software is set to redefine the efficiency and connectivity of commercial fleets.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Neil and Michael Lyng thanked everyone for their continuous support, emphasizing its role in sustaining over 65 jobs at Michael Lyng Motors. The spotlight shone on our award-winning staff, showcasing their hard work and dedication that propels us into an exciting future within this evolving industry.
